1.  What airport do we fly in to in Jamaica?   You will fly in to Montego Bay Airport, then the drive to Fern Hill (approx. 45 minutes-1 hour).

2.  Is this a time share?   We are NOT a timeshare and are in no way affilliated with one.

3.  Is Airfare included?   Airfare is NOT included in the price listed.  However if you are wanting a package deal including the airfare, email us your departing airport information and dates you wish to travel and we will be happy to work up a package deal for you.

4.  What airline should we use?  You can use any airline that will fly into Montego Bay.  The best thing to do is to price shop. You can use the airfare link that we have on our website, or you can check in to Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, CheapOair, Air Jamaica, etc.  We recently learned of a new airline called USA3000.  They only fly from certain cities including Chicago and St. Louis, but they do fly non-stop to Montego Bay.  Right now their price is $249 round trip.

5. Is Fern Hill Villa on the beach?  Fern Hill Villa is not directly on the beach. It is 600ft above the ocean with spectacular views (approx. 2 miles up hill from the beach). You can walk but because the walk is up hill going back to Fern Hill, I would encourage you to use our transportation available.

6. Is it "kid friendly"?  Yes it is kid friendly. It is in a safe area, not a real "party" area. There are almost 3 acres of which there are open areas for play. We do not have child play equipment at this time so we do encourage parents to bring some items of interest for your child to play with. We do however have pool toys, floatees, and some life vests for children sizes.

7. What about transportation?  There are many options for transportation. Remember that we CAN pick you up and drop you off at the airport and can include it in your price unless you have made other arrangements. You can rent a car. You can arrange your own taxi/driver. You can let us know what you would like available for you and we will work it out for you. If you are traveling with a group---depending on your group size, we have vans/drivers available that you can rent the van and the driver for the time that you are in Jamaica and split the cost between your group. You can either pay us with your accomodations, or you can pay the driver when you get there but remember that they only take cash.   For example, you can get a 15 person van with driver for $850 for 7 days, at your beck and call and to go wherever you want to go in Jamaica. Small extra charge for far away travel.   Or, a 10 person van with driver for $600 for 7 days.  Just let us know what you need and we will assist in making your Jamaican vacation all that you want it to be.
 
8. Is Jamaica safe?   Our Fern Hill Villa is in an area of nice homes and safe for tourists.   Jamaica, just like the US, has areas that are considered dangerous or undesireable. The best policy is to stay away from those areas. I would not go out for a walk alone at night! Jamaica does it best to protect their tourists because the tourists are their livelyhood. Many, many Jamaicans count on the tourists for an income.

9. Is there a place to lock valuables?  We have either a locking closet with only one key, or a combination safe in each one of our suites. If you are in a suite with a locking closet, please do not lose your key. There is only one key and you will be charged $30 to change the lock if you have lost your key.

10. What do we do for meals?     There are restaurants on the beach and not far from the villa. Ocho Rios has many restaurants and shops and is 20 minute drive from the villa. Our staff is available to ask questions for suggestions of where to eat!!  If you wish to stay in, you can chose to have the cook make your meals for which you must give them money and they will shop for you and cook.  If you wish, we can work out a price for you to include meals. Many of our guests liked to include breakfast and do lunch and dinner either out or arranged with the staff.

11. I have specific tours I would like to do, do you help with this?  Yes, you just need to communicate to us what you would like to do, or we can give suggestions and help you to plan your vacation.

12.  I have heard that the Jamaican's in public places are very pushy, do you have helpfull hints?  Yes, there are people in the public areas that have goods to sell and can be very pushy. Tell them you are not interested and just keep walking. If there is something you wish to buy and feel that they are overcharging you, you can barter with them for a lower price. In some areas there are people trying to sell drugs, if you do not wish to purchase, just be firm and say no!!  It is your choice to deal with the sales people or not. We have access to our private beach where they are not allowed to bother you.

13.  Do you need a passport?  Yes. Jamaica is their own independent country.

14. How do we book our trip on your website?  First, fill out the reservation request form on the "Choose Your Dates" page, and let us know when you wish to travel and if you want to include transportation. Then we will get back to you within 48 hours with your price. Then you go to the "Book & Pay" page, put your trip amount in your cart and go through the checkout process. If you do not yet know when you wish to travel yet but would like to start making payments, you just go through the same process and put the amount in your cart that you wish to pay. Make sure that you add your email address and make a password for your account and you will be able to log in to the payment group page and track your payments on your own account.

15. What methods of payment do you accept?  We accept major credit cards and paypal online. We will also accept checks mailed to us but will not confirm your reservation until your check clears.
 
16. We would like to come for our honeymoon, can we also get married there including our wedding ceremony and the reception?  Yes!  We have the perfect place for your ceremony either at the gazebo overlooking the ocean, or down on the beach.  We work with a local family in Jamaica that will plan and carryout your complete wedding and reception to perfection!  They have been doing Jamaica weddings foryears and have hundreds of very happy customers.  Email for more information.
